Due to the combination single gasket design of the F and 2F manifolds, the engines are much more suscepitble to exhaust and intake leaks at the gasket. Over the years, countless remedies have been used to good affect, from doubling the gasket to get a thicker "crush area" and seal any discrepencies in flatness, to enclosing each port with a high temperature silicone sealant. Fortunately, a single remflex gasket will address both issues and seal the manifolds the first time, every time. Remflex gaskets are 1/8" thick, and feature the ability to "crush" to 50 percent, therefore sealing any irregularities in flatness up to 1/16". The benefits of the rebound effect of the gasket are two-fold. Firstly, it helps keep the manifold nuts and bolts snug by providing a small tension between the head and the manifolds. Secondly, the gasket constantly pressing against the head and the manifold seals the two surfaces. # Ideal for aftermarket headers
